Collaboration with Hillam Architects to develop the lush landscape and resort-style experience at Eden, a luxury multi-residential development located adjacent to Perry Lakes Reserve in Floreat, Perth. Integrated the landscape into the architecture to create strong relationships between indoors and outdoors and provide residents with privacy while enhancing the public realm.
Transitioning between the public and private realm, the curated landscape slowly reveals different spaces as you move through the site. The eclectic palette of local, endemic and deciduous trees reflects the surroundings with frangipani trees, traveller’s palms and ferns providing shady microclimates. The heart of Eden West is a protected sanctuary with a 25-metre swimming pool and a sunset terrace that opens to a borrowed vista of the natural bushland. Planters around the pool and feature ponds are crafted like dive platforms as a subtle reference to the site’s former sporting history. The edges of Eden East enliven the streetscape with an urban orchard, gathering spaces and dining pavilions. Between the buildings, different height trees and plants entwined through the architecture provide a vibrant public accessway and shield dwellings from overlooking.
