Four-storey multi-residential development in an inner-city suburb with predominantly single and semi-attached dwellings. Dual-aspect apartments with a robust façade to protect residences from the busy street. Landscape threaded through the entry, vistas and gardens.
Echoing the human scale and location, the dark brick base visually recedes beneath the robust, crafted building. Oblique angles provide variation and protection to the street façade, and the cream brickwork with a white gloss fleck glistens in the morning sunlight and reflects the evening street light. Air, light and landscaping flow into the central entry foyer, where plants cascade over the sculpted banisters, and fragrance from plants fills the spring and summer air. This immersive, exuberant open-air space is the communal heart of the building, encouraging residents to walk and socialise; to enjoy a morning coffee, with panoramic city views.
